« How Will You Like To Suffer? «
I like to plan great things for my life. To be a good lover of God, good daughter to my parents, good doctor to my patients, good sister to my siblings, good wife to my future husband, good mother to my future children, a good friend, to make a difference in my sphere of influence, live better, build wealth and be happy etc. The list can go on and on ...In this pursuit, self help and positivity has tickled my fantasy, but there is a deeper fight to attain these things. One that I haven’t been able to fully articulate until I stumbled on this piece. The author of this article I’m going to share hit the nail on the head with his perspective on our choices. My friend shared this article with me the other day and I cannot stop thinking about it. Thanks JM!The author is Mark Manson and everything in the rest of this post was not written by my own ideas but they are cumulative lessons from his article as published on observer.com.I will embed the link here.If you missed that click here.My favorite thought provoking questions and quotes from the article:« We all want great things in life but what are we truly willing to suffer for ?»« Happiness requires struggle »« What pain do you want to sustain ? »« The quality of your life is not determined by the quality of your positive experiences but the quality of the negative experiences »« What determines your success at anything isn’t what you want to enjoy but truly what pain you will want to sustain »I could go on with it but I don’t want to plagiarize, so just go read it for yourself.
