Natasha K. Sriraman MD MPH FAAP FABM is a General Academic Pediatrician and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of the Kings' Daughters/Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Her rode to becoming a physician was circuitous. After graduating from college, she attended graduate school to attain her MPH.  From there, she attended St. George's University School of Medicine and then matched into Pediatrics Residency at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College. After completing internship and residency, she completed a 3-year fellowship at Columbia University in New York City.

When starting her career, as she juggled marriage and motherhood, she worked as an outpatient pediatrician as well as pediatric emergency medicine while living in New York.

In her current academic position, she sees patients, teaches medical students and pediatric residents, conducts research, publishes and speaks on various topics around the world.  Her passions are maternal child health and she has specialized training in breastfeeding medicine, postpartum depression screening as well as adolescent anxiety/depression. She encourages physicians to also be a person outside of medicine to help deal with the daily stresses of being a physician.

In her free time, she loves to run, do yoga, read and spend time with her husband and 4 children (3 human, 1 canine).

Her mantra for IMG/FMGs is to

NEVER GIVE UP

. You will hear NO and yes, you will have a tougher path and you must work harder to prove yourself in the US medical education system.
