IMG Roadmap Series #20. Dr. Raissa Fobi (Pediatrics/Neonatology)

After a hiatus the IMG Roadmap Series is back!

This time it is in a podcast format and yesterday’s launch of the podcast was phenomenal. The internet has accepted my place in the world of podcasting. But enough about me.

Today’s guest is … Dr. Raissa Fobi.

Dr. Fobi is board certified in pediatrics and neonatology and a practicing physician in Washington State. She is a non-US IMG (International Medical Graduate) from the University of Ghana. In 2014, she completed residency at Harlem Hospital Center/Columbia Medical Center. In this episode she describes her pathway from South Africa to Ghana and finally to New York while sharing strategic pieces that culminated to her success today! She is brilliant, talented and one secret I have to share is that she is my dear friend who also just happens to be from Cameroon too! On October 4th 2019,  we co-authored the best selling book "Beyond Challenges: Survival Stories of African Immigrant Physicians on Love, Life and the Practice of Medicine". This book is now available for sale on www.drninalum.com for just $15.99. After this episode you may want to read more about her! She blogs with her mother (an ophthalmologist) on www.thefobidoctors.com

This post is sponsored by the only coaching program by an IMG for an IMG seeking to match into US residency. The IMG Roadmap is an annual course that launches each Spring to help other international medical students and graduates achieve their US doctor goals. Created by Dr. Lum, it will give you practical tools to win this journey!
