IMG Roadmap Series #21. Dr. Mushmoom Khan (Family Medicine)
I you have not yet, you should definitely subscribe to the IMG Roadmap podcast on Apple (click on any words in this gold color to open the link in another page), Google, Spotify, Overcast etc. You do not want to miss pertinent information from other IMGs! I do not know of another blog that provides you first hand information from IMG doctors in training like we do!
Today’s guest will inspire every IMG who has felt dejected because they have had to transfer schools during the process of training due to the quest for higher quality education. As some of you know I did this too, and though often thought of as a red flag, it worked out for me and for Dr. Khan. When she applied into residency, like myself, she was also a visa applicant who overcame the odds. She loves to travel and she has lived in so many places but she is currently completing residency training in the state of New York!
In this episode, Dr. Khan shares how she accomplished her dream of not only rotating in the US as a student but also as a resident physician. As a non - US IMG from Pakistan by way of UAE (Dubai) through Seychelles to the Caribbean she is a true testament to the adage that “hardwork and persistence pays off”. Listen and be inspired!
This post is sponsored by the only coaching program by an IMG for an IMG seeking to match into US residency. The IMG Roadmap is an annual course that launches each Spring to help other international medical students and graduates achieve their US doctor goals. Created by Dr. Lum, it will give you practical tools to win this journey!
